BenQ Introduces Innovative Laptop Light Bar for Enhanced On-the-Go Productivity

BenQ has unveiled a cutting-edge LaptopBar, a magnetic LED light bar that seamlessly attaches to notebook displays. This innovative accessory automatically adapts its brightness to match the ambient environment, ensuring optimal workplace lighting, even when working remotely.

For years, LED light bars affixed to monitors have been a staple in many workstations, enhancing workspace illumination. Now, BenQ brings this concept to laptops with the LaptopBar. Installation is a breeze, with the base unit attaching magnetically to the back of the laptop screen, thanks to a magnetic sticker included by BenQ, making it compatible with virtually any laptop.

The LED light bar itself can be magnetically affixed to the base, and its adjustable hinge allows users to tailor the direction of the light. With a maximum brightness of 700 nits, the LED effectively illuminates the laptop's keyboard and its immediate surroundings. This feature aims to reduce disparities in brightness between the notebook's display and its immediate environment, thus promoting eye comfort. The light is also designed to radiate backward, gently brightening the room.

Users can customize the size of the illuminated area based on the orientation of the LaptopBar. The integrated motion sensor enables gesture-based on/off control, while auto-dimming functionality remembers user preferences and automatically adjusts brightness to match ambient light conditions. Additionally, the color temperature can be fine-tuned between 2,700 and 5,700 Kelvin, offering a range from warm white to cool white. The built-in rechargeable battery boasts a runtime of 160 minutes at 50% brightness and can be conveniently charged via USB-C.

The BenQ LaptopBar is now available for purchase on the manufacturer's online store at a price of US$132.05 and is offered in both black and ivory-white color options. This groundbreaking accessory sets a new standard for mobile workspace lighting, catering to the evolving needs of today's dynamic work environments.
